Jerry E. Sipe, 63, passed away from a brave fight with pancreatic cancer on May 31, 2012, at his New Palestine home. The son of John L. and Ruth Geraldine (Fancher) Sipe. Jerry was born on April 21, 1949.

A 1967 graduate of Ben Davis High School, in Indianapolis, Jerry played football for the Ben Davis Giants and was Class President. He also attended Indiana State University where he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. Jerry graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science in 1971 and went on to work as a sales engineer for many large engineering and manufacturing companies. In 2003, Jerry opened his own rim and wheel repair shop—Engineered Wheel Repair (EWR) on New York Street in downtown Indianapolis. He expanded his company to include two other divisions, Engineered Wheel Products (EWP) and Engineered Wheel Service (EWS).

He is survived by his wife, Karen S. (Marshall) Sipe of New Palestine; mother, Ruth Geraldine (Fancher) Sipe of Indianapolis; daughters, Jennifer S. Burris (Sipe) of Indianapolis, Karoline M. (Jeremy) Henson (son, Findley and daughter, Bridgett) of Cumming, Ga., and Holly J. (David) McKenna (sons Jack and Brody) of Roswell, Ga.; step sons, Nick (Kelly) Young (daughter, Bailey and Son, Sean) of New Palestine, Nathan Young of Western, Colorado; sisters, Kyle Ann Simms, Karen Sipe, and Sara Newton; brothers, John and Joseph Sipe.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, John L Sipe.
