Rose W. (Brown) Henderson, 83, of Carthage, passed away May 29, 2012, following a brief illness. She was born July 18, 1928 in Bowling Green, Ky., a daughter of John and Mary (Tinsley) Brown.

Rose attended Morristown High School, was a charter member of the Carthage Fireman’s Auxiliary, and a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Carthage. She at one time had been employed at Western Electric for 15 years.

She is survived by children; Wanda Henderson of Carthage, Ralph (Anita) Henderson of Morristown, Joyce Henderson of Carthage, Warren (Julie) Henderson of Fishers, John Henderson of Greenfield; grandchildren; Mandy Locker of Knightstown, Phillip and Patrick Henderson of Fishers, Peter Henderson of Indianapolis, Jesse Henderson of Greenfield; four great grandchildren, Russell, Andy, Justin and Shelby Locker all of Knightstown; siblings, Jeanette Swartz of Rushville, Diane (Bob) Robinson of Manila, Jack (Nerva Jo) Brown of Middletown; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Darrell “Bud” Henderson in 2008; daughter; Jennifer Henderson in 1974; daughter-in-law, Debbie Henderson in 2004; brothers, Sherman and Dillon Brown.

Friends may call from 11a.m. until time of service on Friday at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. Services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 1, 2012, with Reverend Charles Stroud officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Carthage. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rush County Senior Center or the Carthage Volunteer Fire Department with envelopes available at the funeral home.
