Robert W. Kemper, 84, of Greenfield, died on Sunday, April 22, 2012, at his daughter’s residence in Liberty. On May 11th 1927, Robert was born to Forrest and Edith Heck Kemper in Shelbyville.

Robert graduated from Charlottesville High School in Hancock County. He retired as the mechanic of Irving Material in McCordsville. He also had been employed as a truck driver with Farm Bureau Co Op in Greenfield. He was extremely active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2693 in Greenfield. Robert will be remembered as someone who could always fix anything mechanical.

Survivors include his children and their spouses, Donna (Donald) Campbell of New Whiteland; Mary Earlywine of Liberty; Benny L. (Tamara) Robbins of Greenfield; Duane Kemper of Columbus; two sisters, Mary Alice Jackman of Fairland and Laura Ann Broward of Ga.; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, the former Delores Ramsey who died on Aug. 23, 2011; a daughter, Ellen Lambert; and a brother, Raymond Kemper.

Memorial services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2012, at the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2693, 529 Apple Street, Greenfield.
