Debra Kay Harding, age 51, lost her courageous battle with cancer on March 17, 2012, at Hancock Regional Hospice. She was born on Feb. 28, 1961, in New Castle, where she lived most of her life before moving to Greenfield in the early 1980s. She was the daughter of Stanley and Barbara (Carter) Harding. She graduated from Greenfield-Central High School in 1979.

Debra worked for Bamboo Inn in New Castle as a bartender and waitress for many years and worked in production for various companies. She was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in New Castle, Greenfield VFW Auxiliary, and attended St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Greenfield. She loved Harley Davidson Motorcycles, horseback riding, camping, and outdoor activities.

Surviving her are her mother, Barbara Ann Harding of Greenfield; a special #2 dad, Jim Keaton of New Castle; a special Aunt Bea (Mike) Ward of New Castle; a special Uncle Billy Carter of New Castle; special friends, Melissa Bowman of New Castle, John Hawkins of Greenfield, David McClure of Greenfield, Judy Pope of Maxwell, and companion Scott; and a lot of cousins.

Preceding her in death were her father and infant daughter, Chelsea Ann Harding.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, March 22, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield with viewing beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Monsignor William Stumpf will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
