Frederick William “Fred” Robbins, 72, passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin after his long battle with cancer. He was a resident of Franklin.

He was born in Daleville, Ind., to William Henry and Ruby Pauline (Carson) Robbins. He married his sweetheart, Phyllis Mae (Seely) Robbins on Sept. 23, 1962. She lovingly survives in Franklin. Fred was a graduate of Carthage High School. He served in the Indiana National Guard and the Indiana Reserves.

 Other survivors include daughters, Mindy Rance (Jeff) of Franklin and Ann Smith (Darrin) of Plainfield; grandchildren, Ryan Smith, Nicole Smith, Katie Rance and Tyler Rance and great-grandsons, Ryan Smith, Jr. and Luke Smith.

He was preceded in passing by his parents; and brothers, Herman and Carl Robbins.

Friends and family may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2012, at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin for a celebration of his life. A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at the funeral home. His final resting place will be at Hopewell Cemetery near Franklin where military honors will be conducted.
