Sherry A. (Allford) Collins, 76, of Fortville passed away March 11, 2012, at her home. She was born Jan. 19, 1936, in Hancock County to the late Carl S. and Lucille (Burk) Allford.
She was a 1954 graduate of Fortville High School. Sherry was a member of the Fortville Christian Church and an honorary retired member of Psi Iota Xi. She also owned and published the Fortville Community Shopper for over 25 years. She loved watching her grandchildren play sports, was an avid basketball fan – especially IU – and enjoyed attending Ball State softball games and Mt. Vernon football games.
Sherry is survived by her husband Dale “Dick” Collins whom she married September 5, 1957; daughter Jane (Michael) White; son Jeffery (Janet) Collins; grandchildren Alyssa (fiancée J.D. Hill) Collins and Jason Collins all of Fortville; brother Wayne (Carolyn) Allford of Greenfield; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her Aunt Mary Ginder.
Friends may call on Friday, March 16, 2012, from 4 – 8 p.m. at Seals Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fortville. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at 10 a.m. in the chapel at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
