Jessica N. Barnhart, 15, of Greenfield, earned her angel wings on March 5, 2012, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born on March 15, 1996, in Greenfield, she is the daughter of Robert G. and Linda D. (Ratliff) Barnhart.
Jessica was a sophomore at Greenfield Central High School. She loved building with legos and bowling and was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts and I.U. basketball. She was also a 7 year member of 4-H, a member of the Greenfield Christian Church, and loved being with her family and friends.
Surviving her are her parents, Robert and Linda Barnhart of Greenfield; sister, Olivia D. Barnhart of Greenfield; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; grandparents, Margery Ratliff and Jim and Ruth Barnhart, all of Greenfield; and great-grandmother, Margaret Doughty of Greenfield. Preceding her in death were her grandfather, Alvin Ratliff; and great-grandfather, Paul Doughty.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 8, 2012, from 2 until 8 p.m. at Park Chapel Christian Church in Greenfield. Funeral services will take place on Friday, March 9, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the church. Pastor John Davis will be officiating and burial will take place at Park Cemetery in Greenfield. To honor Jessica, her family would like for guests to wear blue or their Colts items to her visitation and funeral. Arrangements are being handled by Erlewein Mortuary of Greenfield.
