Mary L. (Jones) Bodkin, age 85, of Greenfield, passed away on March 5, 2012, at Hancock Regional Hospital. Born on October 21, 1926, she was the daughter of Clifford M. and Ollie W. (Spears) Jones.
Mary married Charles E. Bodkin, Sr. and worked in assembly at Delco Remy in Anderson for many years. She was a member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. Additionally, Mary was a lifelong member of the Democrat Party and of the Women’s Auxiliary at the American Legion.
Surviving her are her children, Shelia Coleman and Ed (Lana) Bodkin, both of Greenfield; grandchildren, Tara (Brad) Armstrong of New Palestine, R.J. Bodkin of Newport News, Va., Chad Bodkin of Greenfield, and Melia (Ryan) Hammons of Greenfield; and great-grandchildren, Shelby Armstrong, Sydney Armstrong, and Molly Mae Hammons.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; son, Richard L. “Ricky” Bodkin; and granddaughter, Kristina Diane Noe.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, from 4 until 8 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, March 8, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the mortuary. Pastor Janet Lilly Wanner will be officiating and burial will take place at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
