Charles G. Walton, 81, a resident of Greenfield passed Saturday Feb. 25, 2012, at Golden Living Center at Brandywine, Greenfield. He was born Jan. 1, 1931, in North Salem, Indiana to the Late Vern & Faye (Kendall) Walton.

Charles was a 1949 graduate of North Salem High School and a 1958 graduate of Ball State University, Teacher’s College. Charles retired after 30 years in June 1992 as special education teacher for Greenfield Central Schools, and for the Hancock-South Madison Joint Services for 20 years. He served his country in the US Air Force from 1951 until 1955, was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church, Greenfield, past Exulted Ruler of the Greenfield Elks and he was a very patriotic person.

He is survived by his wife Sally Ann (Delany) Osgood of Greenfield, step children, Dennis (Stevie) Osgood of Greenfield, David Osgood of New Palestine, Danny Osgood of Greenfield, Derek Osgood of Indianapolis; daughters, Cindy (Jerry) McClatchey of New Palestine, Cheryl Dunaway of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Emily, Allison, Autumn, Brittany, Andrew, Adam, Morgan and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by brothers, John, William, Vern; sisters, Joann and Colinette.

Friends may call Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Fairview Cemetery, North Salem, Indiana.
