Robert G. Warfield, Jr., 94, of Fortville, passed away on Feb. 22, 2012. Robert was born in Chicago, on Sept. 26, 1917. He was the son of Robert G. Warfield, Sr. and Marjorie (Teall) Warfield.
He worked at the Sterling Glass Co., a division of the Warfield in Lapel, for four years. Bob enlisted in 1942 in the Army Air Corps and served in the South Pacific. After the war, he married Jeanne Wasem of Ft. Dodge, IA on October 26, 1946. He then worked for 30 years for Brockway Glass Co. in Lapel, retiring in 1981. He enjoyed traveling the world, photography and his many friends. He was a member of the Fortville Christian Church and a former member of the Lion’s Club.
He was preceded in death by Jeanne, his wonderful wife of 58 years; his son Robert G. Warfield, III; sister Patricia W. Wasem; and brother Donald K. Warfield. He was survived by his daughter Barbara W. Ragland of Pendleton; grandson Robert C. Hibbs of Fortville; granddaughter Carol Skaggs and grandson-in-law William Skaggs, of Fortville; and great-grandchildren, William Skaggs, Jr., Cassie Skaggs and David Skaggs.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at 7 p.m. at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville, with calling from 5 p.m. Private family burial will be held at a later date at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
