Marion Barrett, 89, of Greenfield, passed away on Feb. 13, 2012, at her home. Born on Aug. 13, 1922, in Chicago Heights, she was the daughter of Thomas and Hilda (Duensing) Shaw.

She married Arnold “Pete” Barrett on July 13, 1946, in Crete, Ill, and worked as a homemaker and mother. She also worked at First National Bank in Chicago Heights for over twenty years.

Marion was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, P.E.O. Chapter D.U, and the Cosmopolitan Club of Greenfield. She was also a member of the China Painter’s Guild, The Red Hat Society, and the Home Ec Club of Greenfield.

Surviving her are her children, Cathleen (Dr. Stephen) Flink of Greenfield, Mary Jane (Thomas) Boswell of Rockford, Ill, and Carol Ann (Mark) Arnell of Indianapolis; sister, Betty (Robert) Fraley of Grayslake, Ill; grandchildren, Andrew (Becky) Flink, Elizabeth (Adam) Ubben, Michael (Christine) Flink, and Bradley Boswell; and three great-grandchildren, Madison, Hudson, and Miles Flink. Preceding her in death were her parents and husband.

Visitation will be on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, from 4 until 8 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will take place on Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Brookville Road Community Church in New Palestine. Burial will take place at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
