Charles Eugene Beckley, 68, of Fortville, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. Born on Nov. 15, 1943, in Anderson, he was the son of John and Carrie Regina (Smith) Beckley.
Charles married Patricia K. Pearson on April 16, 1965, in Fortville, and worked for Chrysler as an operator for thirty years before retiring in 1998. Charles loved fishing, car races, and NASCAR, and had previously served in the Army National Guard. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving him are his wife, Patricia Beckley of Fortville; children, Bruce (April) Beckley of Middletown, Joe (Marie) Beckley of Clay City, and Lori (Joe) Hunt of Greenfield; brother, Johnny Beckley of Fortville; grandchildren, Bruce Beckley, Jr., Travis Beckley, Erin Beckley Moore, Danielle Beckley Hobbs, Amanda Beckley, Cole Beckley, Lane Beckley, Alyssa Hunt, Reagan Hunt, John-Michael Hunt, Joshua Hunt, and Jewels Beckley; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Liam, Kaela, Jaxson, Rylee, Gabby, Cash, Kennedy, Callee, and Charlie on the way; many nieces and nephews; and his dog, Fred.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Johnny Lee Beckley and Ricky Beckley; and sister, Regina Addison.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at Erlewein Mortuary in Fortville. Funeral services will follow at 1p.m. and burial will take place at Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville.
