Loretta P. Guffin, 92, formerly of Indianapolis and Greenfield, passed away on Feb. 8, 2012, at Morristown Manor. Born on Oct. 16, 1919, in Rush County, she was the daughter of Clessie and Ethel (Alexander) Tribby.
Loretta graduated from Arlington High School and married F. Eugene “Deedle” Guffin on Aug. 30, 1941. She worked as a homemaker. Loretta was an active member of Post Road Christian Church and loved traveling.
Surviving her are her daughters, Janet (James) Foglesong of LaPorte and Anita (George) Ebert of Avilla; sister, Anna Lou Brown of Greenfield; sisters-in-law, Martha Belton of Franklin and Lela Ewing of Palm City, Fla.; grandchildren, Greg (Pam) Guffin of Shelbyville, Amy (Dr. Jeffrey) Wong of Boulder, Colo., Mark Foglesong of LaPorte, Jonathan (Sally) Foglesong of LaPorte, Jacob (Val) Ebert of Fort Wayne, and Douglas Ebert of Fort Wayne; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; son, Larry Gene Guffin; and nine brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be on from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m.on Saturday, Feb 11, 2012, at the mortuary. Pastor Don Johnson will be officiating and burial will take place at Hanover Cemetery in Morristown.
