Betty J. Cecil Duhamell, 84, of Greenfield, passed away on Feb. 5, 2012. Born on June 1, 1927, in Greenfield, she was the daughter of W. Grant and Flora J. (Hill) Bever.

Betty married William L. Cecil on April 26, 1947, and he preceded her in death. She then married Wilber Duhamell on Sept. 29, 1990, and he also preceded her in death. She worked as a layout operator at Western Electric for over 30 years before retiring in 1981. Betty enjoyed traveling and playing cards. Betty was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Greenfield for 43 years. She was a member of the Council of Women, the Red Hat Ladies, the A.R.C. of Indiana, and Telephone Pioneers of America.

Surviving her are her daughters, Sherry L. Brooks and Sharon S. (Milton) Trahan; sister, Elizebeth Dickerson; brother, Gale Bever; foster daughter, Anna Brown; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Preceding her in death were her first and second husbands; son, Robert E. Cecil; parents; brothers, Leonard Bever, Robert Bever, Charles Bever, Edward Bever, and Lee Bever; and a sister, Mary Hiday.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at the mortuary. Burial will take place at New Palestine Cemetery.
