John E. Inglert Jr., 66, passed away in peace at his home on Friday, Jan. 27, 2012.

John was raised in New Palestine, Ind., where he graduated from high school in 1963. He and his wife, Therese, lived in Morristown, Ind., for 13 years before moving to Bradenton, Fla. in 2004.

In 1994 John retired from the Ford Motor Co. as a tool and dye maker. He later retired from the real estate business. John was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 182 and enjoyed participating in the U.S. Tennis Association and the Palma Sola Bay Yacht Club.

Survivors include his wife, Therese Ritter Inglert; sons, Eric (Lisa) Inglert of Cincinnati, Mark Inglert of Orlando, Fla.; mother, Julia (Gene) Cole of Greenfield, Ind.; sisters, Joyce (Ed) Lay of Fountaintown, Ind. and Shelly (Greg) Kleiman of Greenfield, Ind.; grandson, Graham Inglert; and extended family.

John was preceded in death by his father, John E. Inglert Sr.

A celebration of life will be held in Bradenton, Fla., on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, and again in the spring at the home of Greg and Shelly Kleiman in Greenfield, Ind.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made in John's memory to the American Cancer Society and/or the Humane Society.
