Arvel Huff, 91, of Shirley, passed away on Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation of Greenfield. He was born on July 8, 1920 in Boyd County Kentucky to the late Allen and Margaret (Sarks) Huff.
Arvel was an avid farmer and loved his garden. He retired from I.M.C. in 1992 after 20 years of service. He was a member of The Fortville Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include sons; the Rev David (Rachel) Huff of Shirley, Michael (Jean) Huff of Wilkinson; daughter, Jana (Lynn) Shaw of Nashville, Ind., five grandchildren; David Wayne Huff of Lovespark, Ill., Thomas Allen Huff of Greenfield, Christopher M. Huff of Zanesville, Ohio, Sarah Shaw of Evansville, Ind., Zachary Shaw of Ashland, Ky.; and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bertha in 2009; and one great great grandchild, Ashlyn Huff.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012 at Condo and Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson. Funeral service will be Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012 at Fortville Church of the Nazarene in Fortville at 10 a.m. with Rev. Phil Edwards and Rev. Clyde Hall officiating, and a calling one hour prior to service.
