Phillip A. Arthur, 70, of Greenfield, passed away on Jan. 22, 2012, in Indianapolis. Born on Nov. 1, 1941, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Francis M. and Carol (Cooper) Arthur.

Phillip graduated from Thomas Carr Howe H.S. in 1959 and married Lauretta Cashman on July 1, 1962, in Indianapolis. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Business and Accounting from IUPUI and worked at Allison Transmission in Indianapolis for over 35 years before retiring in 1997. Phil was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Greenfield and was Past President of Greenfield Band Boosters. He photographed the Miss Indiana Pageant for over 15 years and had photographed preliminary pageants all over the state of Indiana.

 Surviving him are his wife of over 49 years, Lauretta Arthur of Greenfield; daughters, Deb (Karl) Kuehn, and Lisa Lewman; and grandchildren, Laura, Charlie, Anna, Carol, and Robert Martin, and Jenna Lewman.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and daughter, Laura.

 Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Greenfield with Pastors Daniel O’Connor and David Shadday officiating. Burial will take place at Washington Park East.
