Leland Turner, age 84, a resident of Greenfield, passed away Jan. 11, 2012, at Sugar Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation, Greenfield. He was born Feb. 18, 1927, in Bowling Green, Ky. to the late Almer Hester and Ida Bell (Sikes) Turner.

He worked at RCA – LaSalle and 30th Street plant for over 30 years as a tool crib room attendant. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Indianapolis and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of the Liberty Shores Lake Owner’s Association, A.A.R.P., a 50 plus year member of Brookside Masonic Lodge and spent time at the Pool Hall in Greenfield.

  He is survived by his son, Lt. Col. Coy L. (Elyse) Turner of Greenfield, currently deployed to Kuwait with the U.S. Army; daughter, Sandy Spencer of Gainesville, Fla.; granddaughter, Stacy Konstand of Orlando, Fla.; great-granddaughter, Kylie and special friend, Ruth Cole of Greenfield.

  He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Ruby L. Turner, and brother, Louell Turner.

  Funeral service will be 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield. Family and friends may call from 3 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012 at Crescent Hill Cemetery, Scottsville, Ky.
