Phillip Wayne Branham, age 56, of Columbia, Tenn., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at Maury Regional Medical Center, Columbia, Tenn.

Phillip was a retired employee of General Motors and resident of Roy Sellers Road, Columbia, Tenn. A native of Anderson, he was the son of Rrene (Garmon) Branham of Markelville, and the late Mell Branham. Phil moved to Tennessee 22 years ago and enjoyed coaching his son’s baseball teams. He attended the Methodist Church. He was a 1973 graduate of Pendleton Heights High School and a 1977 graduate of Indiana University. He loved coming back to Indiana to watch IU Basketball.

In addition to his mother, Phil is survived by his wife, Denise Ann (Whistler) Branham of Columbia, Tenn.; daughter, Kimberly Ann Branham of Columbia, Tenn.; son, Phillip James Branham of Columbia, Tenn.; sister, Linda (Allen) Rodecap of Anderson; brother, Gary (Karen) Branham of Pendleton; several nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a nephew, Jeremy Rodecap.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday Dec. 31, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home; 320 W. 7th Street; Columbia, Tenn., with Rev. Phillip Wright officiating. Burial followed in Neapolis Cemetery. The family visited with friends on Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
