David Wells Whitton, age 67, of South Bend, Ind. and formerly of New Castle, died on Sunday, December 25, 2011, at Sanctuary of Holy Cross Health Care Facility. He was born on Nov. 10, 1944, in New Castle. He was the son of Roy P. and Norma Louise Whitton.
Survivors include his father, Roy P. (Kay) Whitton of Lake Placid, Fla.; mother, Louise Whitton of South Bend, Ind.; wife, Almeda Steele Whitton of South Bend, Ind.; daughter, Abigail (Murray) Weaver of South Bend,Ind.; and son, David Michael (Amy Fox) Whitton of Saline, Mich. He has one brother, Matthew Roy (Judy) Whitton of Greenfield; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his biological father, Bill Wells.
Services were held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at Marcum Community Funeral Home. Friends called from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday prior to service. Pastor Janice Sutter officiated.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made at the Shepherds Door Food Pantry. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
