David Lee Bratten, age 68, of McCordsville, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. He was born on Dec. 18, 1943, in Indianapolis, to Max and Dorothy (Bartlett) Bratten.
He was a 1962 graduate of Vernon Township High School in Hancock County and received his Bachelors Degree from Purdue University. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Bratten had been a truck driver for Yellow Freight in Indianapolis for 20 years. He was a member of the N.R.A.
Survivors include his two daughters, Kristine K. (Todd) Bridges of Trafalgar, Ind., and Kira L. (John) Walton of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Jensen Bridges, and Elijah Walton; sister, Linda (David) Tutin of Florida; one niece and one nephew.
A service will be conducted on Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, at 8 p.m., at Swartz Family Community Mortuary And Memorial Center, 300 S. U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, with military honors to follow. Friends may call on Friday, from 6 p.m. until service time at the mortuary.
