Sarah M. Erwin, 83, of Lapel, died on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at Maple Park Village in Westfield following an extended illness. She was born on Sept. 11, 1928, in Anderson, to Glenn and Agnes (Veach) Garrett.
She is survived by two sons, Bob (Carrie) Erwin of Lapel and Dale (Margaret) Erwin of Noblesville; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford "Bud" Erwin; a son, David Erwin; and a brother Ralph Garrett.
A funeral service was held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel, with Pastor Doug Barton officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 N. Main St., Lapel.
