Janet Marie Goudy, 69, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, after a long and courageous battle through illness. She spent her final days surrounded by many faithful friends and family, a statement to her impact on all who were part of her life.

She was born on Oct. 13, 1942, in Indianapolis, to Clarence and Myrtle Wurz. She graduated from Manual High School in 1960, and she married the love of her life, Gerald R. Goudy, on May 18, 1963.

She was a member of the Wilkinson Church of Christ, where she was secretary for many years. She was also a Bible Bowl team sponsor for many years, helping lead her team to a second place finish in the national competition. She spent her life devoted to her family, friends, her church, and especially to her grandchildren, whom she adored.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years; two daughters, Diane (Richard) Goudy-Wilson, and Lisa (George) Molwitz; grandchildren, Jade, Mia, and Macy Wilson, and Seth, Hannah, and Luke Molwitz. She is also survived by three sisters, Roberta (James) Perkins, Judy Wurz, and Sandra (Gene) Compton; three brothers, Donald (Judy) Wurz, James (Kay) Wurz, and David (Rita) Wurz; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Wurz; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Kenneth and Patricia Jessup, and Charles and Sandy Goudy; many nieces and nephews; lifelong childhood friend, Phyllis Kindle; and dear friend Phyllis Vest.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, C. Richard Wurz Jr.

Friends may call on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Condo and Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson, Ind. A funeral service celebrating her life will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at the funeral home, with Ryan McCarty and Russ Lutes officiating. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.
