Jeanette Snider, age 87, of Markleville, passed away on Nov. 26, 2011, at her residence. She was a former resident of Pendleton.

 She was born on May 24, 1924, in Pendleton to Herbert and Nellie Keesling. She retired from South Madison school cafeteria after 25 years. She was a homemaker and farmers wife all her life.

Survivors include her daughter, Diane and Bill Beherns of N.Y.; sons and daughter-in-laws, John and Linda Snider of Greenwood, Ind., Larry and Jama Snider of New Castle, Ind., Jerry and Cathy Snider of Pendleton; sister, Norma and Larry Gardner of Pendleton; sister-in-law Judy Snider of Pendleton; grandchildren, Desira (who was by her side and her primary caregiver for the last 16 months) and husband, Dan Fesler, David and Staci Snider, Eric Snider, Darrick and Treva Snider, Shane Morris, Angie Morris, Lisa and Pete Cusick, Greg and Rosanne Moore, Leslie and Al Haverkamp, Matt Hartle, Jessica Crouch, and Krista Winters; six step-grandchildren on the East Coast; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn V. Snider, whom she married on June 6, 1942; her parents, Herbert and Nellie Keesling; and brother and sister-in-law Jim and Virginia Keesling.

Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State Street, Pendleton, with the Rev. Jim Blackwell officiating. Calling hours will take place from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Eden Cemetery in Hancock County.
