Johnnie H. Kramer, age 62, of Shelbyville, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at his home. Born on Feb. 11, 1949, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Richard J. "Dick" Kramer and Frances (Henderson) Kramer Cox.

Johnnie graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1969. He served with the US Army in the Vietnam War as a Sgt. E5. He also worked as a machinist with Rodefelds Auto Parts, Car Quest, and Niebel's Engines, until he retired in 2008.

He was a member of the FOE #766, life member of the 11th Armored Cavalry Veteran's of Vietnam and Cambodia, and a life member of the Handyman's Club of America.

Johnnie is survived by two daughters, Christian Kramer of Belleville, Ill., Melanie Pennycuff of Chicago, Ill.; step-daughter, Genevie L. (Kent) Ritchie of Waynesboro, Va.; step-son, Steven J. Willmy of Shelbyville; sister, Marijane Renfro of Greenfield; and nephew, Kenneth (Jennifer) Renfro of Indianpolis.

He was preceded by his parents, Richard and Frances.

Visitation will be held from noon until 3 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m., with Rev. Ronnie Cain officiating. Burial will take place at Blue Ridge Cemetary in Shelby County. A graveside military service will be conducted by the local veterans organization.
