Robert L. Morgan, age 81, of Greenfield, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011. Born on Feb. 2, 1930, in New Augusta, Ind., he was the son of Milford and Miriam (Thompson) Morgan.
He graduated from Tech High School in 1948 and married Dolores Revell on June 20, 1953, in Indianapolis. Robert worked for Chrysler Corp. as a purchaser for over 35 years before retiring in 1988. He was a member of Park Chapel Christian Church and of REACT International for 30 years. He loved woodworking and NASCAR. Robert also served in the National Guard from 1948-1958.
Surviving him are his son, Ronald Morgan of Indianapolis; daughters, Patricia Morgan of Greenfield, Jacqueline (Mike) Pierce of New Palestine, Deborah (Ken) Bell of Indianapolis, Cathy (Bill) Bell of Indianapolis; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife; two sisters; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the mortuary. Entombment will take place at Washington Park East.
