Paul S. Shambaugh, age 87, of Franklin, passed away on Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, in Franklin, Ind. Born on Feb. 18, 1924, in Marion County, he was the son of Jesse A. and Jemima E. (Cook) Shambaugh.

Paul graduated from Charlottesville High School in 1942 and married Eunice Potts on April 9, 1944. He worked at Indiana Gear Works as a machinist for thirty years before retiring. Paul was a member of Hancock Lodge #101, Eden Lodge #477, Devol Lodge #766, the Greenfield York Rite, the Indianapolis Scottish Rite, 33rd Degree Mason, the Murat Shrine, and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving him are his children, Steve (Sharon) Shambaugh of Greenfield, Connie Peacock of Greenfield, Debbie (Scott) Kinnick of Indianapolis, and Judy (Paul) Wilson of Fortville; sister-in-law, Marcele Davenport of Pendleton; ten grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his wife; parents; sister, Mary Ellen Sprague; brother, Jesse A. Shambaugh, Jr.; and two infant grandsons.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. A Masonic Service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the mortuary. A Private burial will take place at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana Masonic Home Foundation at 609 State St., Franklin, IN., 46131.
