Dorothy K. Schramm, age 95, of New Palestine, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011 at Hancock Regional Hospital, Greenfield. The daughter of Paul E. and Minnie A. Behrens Kottlowski, Dorothy was born Dec. 20, 1915 in Indianapolis, Ind.
A graduate of Arsenal Technical High School, Dorothy attended and graduated from the Evanston Nursing School in Evanston, Ill., earning her degree as a registered nurse. She worked for Eli Lilly and Company, Indianapolis for several years. Dorothy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Zion Circle, Lutheran Child and Family Services and the Riley Cheer Guild.
Survivors include her daughters, Paula D. Schramm of New Palestine and Lorraine A. (Steve) Covert of Zionsville; granddaughter, Amy (John) Altman and great granddaughters, Abby and Molly Altman.
Besides her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Armin F. Schramm; brother, Paul E. Kottlowski, Jr. and sisters; Elizabeth, Helen and Ruth Kottlowski.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 2 p.m. on Oct. 24, 2011, in Zion Lutheran Church, 6513 West 300 South, New Palestine. Pastor Jason Taylor will be officiating. Burial will follow services in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
