Chester R. Fritz, age 87, of Anderson, died on Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on Aug. 17, 1924, in Greenfield, to the late Henry and Bessie (Howery) Fritz.
Chester was a veteran of WWII, serving in the United States Army, and was a member of the Shelbyville American Legion Post #70.
Survivors include his son, Edward Fritz of Shirley; sister, Ester Ramer of Shelbyville; son-in-law, David Ryker of Carmel; two grandsons; one granddaughter; and companion, Janet Reid of Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Louise Fritz in 2006; daughter, Linda (Fritz) Ryker; and three brothers, Gale, Herbert, and Clarence Fritz.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, at Condo and Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson. Funeral Service will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct.19, 2011, at the funeral home, with Pastor Jim Jackson officiating. Military Graveside, conducted by the Shelbyville American Legion, will follow at Forrest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville, Ind.
