Odessa I. Bridgewater, age 91, of Greenfield, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011. Born on Sept. 9, 1920, in Wilson, Ark., she was the daughter of Ernest and Birdie (Hardy) Inmon.

Odessa married Morris Bridgewater on June 25, 1943. She worked on the Assembly Line for Western Electric for many years before retiring in 1981. She was a member of Greenfield Wesleyan Church, the Pioneer Club of Western Electric, and the Greenfield Senior Center. She had also joined the Red Hat Club at Brandywine Nursing Home.

Surviving her are her son, Morris (Jacky) Bridgewater of Kent, Ohio; daughters, Gloria (Robert) Bainter of Greenfield and Nina (Jerry) Pendlum of Athens, Ala.; sisters, Letha Etheridge of Greenfield and Ruby Crump of Milledgeville, Ga; seven grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; sister, Pearline Hughes; and brothers, Narlin Inmon, Ira Inmon, and Bill Inmon.

Visitation took place at noon on Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. The Funeral began at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, and burial followed at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
