Gail Louise Stiverson, age 65, of Greenfield, passed away on Sept.18, 2011. Born on Nov. 13, 1945, in Youngstown, Ohio, she was the daughter of Absalom Charles and Ruth Alice (Johnston) Parry.

Gail graduated from Austintown Fitch High School in Austintown, Ohio, in 1963. She graduated from Fort Wayne Bible College in 1967, with a degree in Christian Education and Music. She then earned her degree from Asbury College in Wilmore Ky., in Elementary Education in 1973. Gail married John Floyd Stiverson on Oct. 1, 1977, in Winona Lake, Ind. Over the years, Gail worked as a teacher at various schools in Kansas City, Mo., Mishawaka, Ind., Ponca City, Okla., Columbus, Ohio, and Warsaw, Ind. She also worked at the Cardinal Center in Warsaw, Ind., and directed preschool for one year in Winona Lake, Ind. Gail was the music librarian for the Brandywine Wind Band as well as a member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Greenfield. She enjoyed reading and memorizing the Bible as well as music- especially band, flute, piano, and vocal classics and hymns. She enjoyed doing puzzles of all kinds, emailing, photographs, writing, and organizing.

Surviving her are her husband, John Floyd Stiverson of Greenfield; and brothers, David Ronald Parry of Cumberland, Absalom Carl Parry of Warsaw, and Daniel Earle Parry of Osaka, Japan.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Visitation will take place from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, at the family home, 739 W. North St., Greenfield, IN, 46140. Additional visitation will take place on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church in Greenfield. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. on Thursday at the church.
