Richard "Dick" Leakey, age 75, of Knightstown, Ind., died on Tuesday Sept. 16, 2011, after a long illness. Dick was born the son of the late Oris and Naomi (Garriott) Leakey.
He graduated from Knightstown High School in 1954. He then attended Purdue University one year before entering the U.S. Army. After the army he attended The University of Arizona. For many years Dick was owner of the Leakey Insurance Agency in Knightstown.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Brooks; sons, Rick, David, Joseph O'Neal and Chad Leakey; 11 grand children; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Todd Funeral Home in Knightstown, Ind.
