Lila Marie Smoot Young, formerly of Greenfield, died on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, in England, UK. She was born on Nov. 6, 1958, to Robert and Nancy Smoot.
Lila was a graduate of Greenfield-Central High School and Ball State Unvierstiy. She taught school in Wales for 20 years. Lila was the wife of David Young and the mother to Amy and Melissa Young of Wales, UK.
Survivors include her husband, David; daughters, Amy and Melissa; parents, Bob and Nancy Smoot; sister, Beth (Joe) Turpin; brothers, Mark (Jerri) Smoot, William (Beverly) Smoot, Duane (Cheryl) Smoot, James (Denise) Smoot; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, at Greenfield Christian Church.
