Nathan V. Hughes, age 40, died on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at his home in New Castle. He was born on Jan. 15, 1971, in Greenfield.
He served 16 years in the Indiana National Guard and also previously served two years in the United States Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Paula (McCubbins) Hughes, whom he married on July 4, 1998; mother, Ingrid (Stach) Hughes of Fortville; father, Gerald Hughes of Alab.; daughters, Holly Ann Hughes of Anderson, Nikki Lynn Hughes of Fortville; brothers, Scott (Lourdes) Hughes of Chesterfield, Ind., Clint (Carol) Hughes of Huntley, Ill.; and sister, Michelle (Jeff) Romeril of Fortville.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, at Seals Funeral Home in Fortville. Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville.
