Bob H. Roan, age 81, a lifetime resident of Shelbyville, Ind. passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, at his home. He was born on Aug. 29, 1930, in Shelby County, Ind., to Ora Earnest and Caleola Ruth (Parker) Roan.

Bob married Gloria Jane Feuerstine on June 3, 1978. He was self-employed all of his life as a farmer and trucker, and he also drove a school bus for Shelby Eastern Schools for ten years. Bob and Jane raised and showed Belgian horses, enjoyed attending and participating in parades, horse pulls, tractor pulls, telling stories to his grandchildren, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He also loved hanging out at the Rays Crossing elevator with friends. Bob was a member of the Little Blue River Baptist church where he had served as a Deacon. He was also a member of Indiana Wagon Train and Outriders Association of Indiana, Morristown Lions, and the Antique Tractor Association.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Roan of Shelbyville, Ind.; daughters, Deanna (Chris) Holder, and Cindy (Doug) Webster, both of Shelbyville, Ind.; grandchildren, Dustin Webster, Brittany (Josh) Carlton, Brooke Webster, Shelby Hudson, and Sara Augustine.

He was preceded in death by his parents; half brother, Durward Parker; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Friends and family may visit from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 5, 2011, at Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at the funeral home. Rev. Bob Langdon will be officiating.
