Ray Hancock, age 74, of Greenfield, died on Aug. 24, 2011, at Kindred Transitional Care & Rehabilitation in Greenfield. He was born Dec. 29, 1936, in Adair County, Ky. to the late Henry Eulas and Ola Mae (Barnett) Hancock.

Ray is survived by daughters, Linda S. (Clay) Gallup of Tompkinsville, Ky., Gloria M. (Brian) Long of Nineveh, Ind., and Gayla J. North of Columbus, Ind.; sons, Dennis R. Hancock of Brown County, Ind., Mark E. (Kim) Hancock of Charlottesville, and Kip D. (Buffy) Hancock of Heltonville, Ind.; sisters, Barbara Sims of Indianapolis, and Shirley (Larry Redmon) Geary of Greenfield; brother, Troy (Angie) Hancock of Greenfield; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Ray was preceded in death by his daughter, Judy Bray; grandson, Michael Scharbrough; sisters, Helen Jackson, and Irene Hancock; and brothers, Ernest, Kenneth, John, Wallace, Archie, Gordon, and Harold Hancock.

Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown, Ind. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Matt Satter officiating. Ray will be laid to rest next to his wife at Nineveh Cemetery in Nineveh, Ind.
