Erma E. Elliott, age 73, of Knightstown, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011, at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born on July 17, 1938, in New Castle, the daughter of Ernest and Lila E. (Plank) McRoberts.

A life long resident of the Knightstown area, Erma graduated from Knightstown High School in 1956. She retired from DMG World Media in 2009 after 24 years of service. She was a member of the Knightstown Christian Church, PSI IOTA XI – Gamma ETA Chapter at Knightstown. She enjoyed knitting, making flower arrangements, working in her flower garden, bowling and spending time with her family.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 54 years, Ronald K. “Ronny” Elliott of Knightstown; daughters, Cindy (Marvin) Rees of Glenwood, Ind., Cynthia (Mike) Gasper of Westport, Ind., Rhonda (Anthony) Tompkins of Shirley, and Melissa and Natalie Elliott of Knightstown; son, Kevin (Pam) Elliott of Odgen, Ind.; sisters, Peggy (Pete) Williams of Knightstown, and Bonnie (Harold) Bailey of Niles, Mich.; brother, Ed (Ann) McRoberts of Muncie, Ind.; grandchildren, Brad Elliott of Shirley, Jessica (David) Raynard of Indianapolis, Britney Tompkins of Lewisville, Ind., Paul Gasper of Westport, Ind., Krista (Randy) Gilbert of Anderson, Ind., Katie Tompkins of Greenfield, Jake Tompkins of Shirley, Loys, Corrine, and Solomon Rees of Glenwood, Ind., Abby Moles of Knightstown, Cordell Elliott of New Castle, and Gavin Elliott of Knightstown; two great grandchildren, Sierra Gilbert of Anderson, Ind., and Waylon Key of Greenfield.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest McRoberts, Jr.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel. There will be a PSI IOTA XI memorial service at 8 p.m. Services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, with Richard Thayer officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery.
