Mary A. Goodlin, age 89, of Ogden, Ind., passed away on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. She was born on May 18, 1922, in Ogden, Ind., the daughter of David Alfred and Ruby (Reid) Longwell.
Mary was a member of the Ogden United Methodist where she was an active choir member. She was formerly employed at Walmart in Greenfield. She loved gardening and being outdoors. She enjoyed reading the Bible, crocheting and spending time with her family.
She is survived by daughter, Patricia Vallee of Wash.; granddaughter, Lisa Goodlin-Saenz; nieces, Carolyn (Glenn) Stoten of Ogden, Ind., and Priscilla (Dennis) Shumaker of San Antonio, Texas; great nephews, Vince Shumaker of Indianapolis, Phillip Stoten of Mo., Tim Howard and Terry Howard of Shirley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Goodlin; step-sons, Robert and John Goodlin; sisters, Catherine Howard and Louise Dean; brothers, John, Charles and Pete Longwell; and nephew, Paul Howard.
Friends may call from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. prior to the service on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, at the Ogden United Methodist Church. Services will be at 1 p.m. with Pastor Carolyn Stoten officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery.
