Edsul Eugene "Gene" Morris, 83, Noblesville, died Thursday, July 21, 2011, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville following an extended illness. He was born on Nov. 19, 1927, in Strawtown, Ind. to Grover and Ellen (Reddick) Morris.
He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bonnie (Hersberger) Morris; one son, Barry (wife, Kathy) Morris of Noblesville; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Morris Harvey of Noblesville; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Rick Morris; two brothers, Cloe Morris and Wayne Morris; and one sister, Lois Nern.
A funeral service was held at 7:00 pm Monday, July 25, 2011, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel where family friend, Richard Barker officiated. A private family burial took place at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Indianapolis.
Visitation was from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, July 25, 2011, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
