Thelma C. Broadwater, age 88 of Greenfield, formerly of Shirley passed away Tuesday morning, July 5, 2011 at St. Vincent’s Hospice in Indianapolis.
She was born July 22, 1922 in Picket County, Tenn. to the late Winburn and Sarah (Story) Craig.
Thelma retired from Delco Remy in Anderson in 1969 after 22 years of service and was a member of the Shirley Christian Church in Shirley.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Broadwater Sr. of Greenfield; son, Paul “Sonny” (Pam) Broadwater of Wilkinson; daughter, Vicky (Jack) Friddle of Greenfield; nine grandchildren, Kim (Mark) Hancock, Karmen (Mark) Carroll, Danielle Broadwater, Kelly (David) Christian, Karl (Dawn) Friddle, Matt Broadwater, Alison (John) Quirk, Dustin (Marianna) Broadwater, Wesley Broadwater; twenty two great-grandchildren; five great-great, grandchildren; brothers, Herman Craig of Greenfield, Donald Craig of Shirley; sister, Ina Akers of Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Thurman Craig and sisters, Ruby Foust and Clarice Armstrong.
Funeral service will be Monday, July 11, 2011 at 1:00 p.m at Condo and Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday, July 10, 2011 from 2-6 p.m.
