Andrew Douglas “Drew” Sims, age 19, of Fortville, passed away June 27, 2011. He was born Jan. 19, 1992 in Amherst, Ohio, to Douglas Scott and Patricia Annette (Gritzmacher) Sims.
Drew was a 2010 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School. He had recently completed his first year at Ball State University, where he was placed on the Dean’s List, and was a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Drew was a member of Faith Apostolic Church, and had attended both Calvary Tabernacle in Indianapolis, and River of Life in Muncie.
Drew is survived by his mother, Patricia A. Sims; father, Douglas S. (Haley) Sims; brothers, Michael Scott Sims, Logan Christopher Sims and Ben Bracher; maternal grandparents, Glenn and Arlene Gritzmacher; paternal grandparents, Dale and Sharon Sims; grandmother, Ella Shepherd; great-grandmother, Marjorie Lewis; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 7 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2011, at Faith Apostolic Church, 1212 E. 116th St., Carmel.
