Helen L. (Anderson) Roberts, age 85, died Saturday, April 16, 2011, at Regency Place in Greenfield. Born on Oct. 8, 1925 in Kokomo, she was the daughter of Alfred and Millie (Young) Anderson. Helen married Richard “Dick” E. Roberts on July 20, 1961. She was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother.
Surviving her are her husband, Dick Roberts of New Palestine; children, Nancy (Nick) Brown of Macy, Terry Southernton of Peru, Sandra (Joseph) Smith of Lancaster, Ohio, Patricia (Michael) Vandemark of McDonough, Ga., Bonnie Robinson of New Palestine, Cindy Bright of Naples, Fla., Charles Roberts of St. Petersburg, Fla., Kenneth Roberts of Cloverdale; step-sons, Rick Roberts of Carmel and William Abston of Lawrence; sister, Stella Wiles of Kokomo; 24 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.
Preceding her in death were her parents; four brothers and sisters; son, Bob Jewell; and granddaughter, Marsha Kotterman.
A viewing will start at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield immediately followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery.
