Richard Allen Carlton, age 81, Morristown, died on Friday, April 1, 2011, at Major Hospital in Shelbyville. He was born in Hancock County on Nov. 21, 1929, to Elmer and Florence (Noe) Carlton.
Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann (Nugent) Carlton, who he married on July 1, 1950; son, Roger A. (Donna) Carlton of Fountaintown; daughter, Diana L. Terry of Morristown; brothers, Robert E. (Tonya) Carlton, William C. (Beverlee) Carlton, Gene W. (Patty) Carlton, all of Morristown; sister, Joann (Lynn) Tyner of Morristown; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson.
Graveside services with military rites will take place at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown, with the Rev. Amy Artis officiating.
