Jean Myers Bowden, age 81, of Greenfield, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2011. The daughter of Henry and Sophia Piper Johanningsmeier, Jean was born July 8, 1929, in Freedlandville, Ind.
A homemaker, Jean was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, New Palestine and VFW #5864 Auxiliary, Greenwood.
Jean is survived by sons, Kenneth (Sandy) Myers of New Palestine, Don (Sheila) Myers of New Carlyle, Oh., and Tim Myers of Tucson, Ariz.; daughters, Debbie (Clint) Bledsoe of New Palestine and Cindy (Robert) Sergent of Prospect, Ky.; brother, Raymond Johanningsmeier of Batesville, Ind.; sister, Miriam Schaekel of Mt. Comfort, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands Lawrence Myers in 1983 and Melvin Bowden in 2009; son, Larry E. (Beth) Myers, Jr.; 2 brothers, 4 sisters and 3 grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2011, in Zion Lutheran Church – 6513 W 300 S, New Palestine, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
