Johnnie (Zachary) Parks, age 86, Lapel, died on Saturday, March 26, 2011, in her daughter's home following an extended illness. She was born on April 3, 1924, in Livingston, Tenn., to John and Julia (Wright) Zachary.
She is survived by children, Sandra (Gary) Moore of Carriere, Miss., Patricia (Carl) Russell of Lapel, Julie Wood of Franklinton, La., Jeff (Beverly) Parks of Pendleton; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Owens of Jamestown, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hubert
Lavon Parks; brothers, Thomas, Sid, and Otha Zachary; sisters, Peggy Wallace, Callie Wise, Addie Graham, and Zelda Zachary.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2011, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2011, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
