Howard D. Ledford, age 74, of Greenfield, passed away on March 22, 2011. Born on June 23, 1936, in Overton County, Tenn., he was the son of J.T. and Annie Beatrice (Bowmer) Ledford.
Howard married Sherry L. Cronk on Sep. 24, 1960, in Ogden, Ind., and worked for Delco Remy in Assembly for 31 years before retiring in 1999. He was a lifetime NRA member who loved camping, fishing, and eating sweets.
Surviving him are his wife, Sherry L. Cronk Ledford of Greenfield; children, Tonia (Randolph) Miller and Steven Ledford both of Greenfield; siblings, Danny (Diane) Ledford of Tenn., David (Margaret) Ledford of Greenfield, Diane Ledford of Fla., Judy (Randall) Burke of Tenn., Jim (Terri) Ledford of Ind., and Sandra Storm of Ore.; grandchildren, Christopher (fiancé, Ashley Sterrett) Miller and Heather Miller; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Sadie Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2011, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, March 26, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the mortuary. Pastor Larry Fannin will be officiating and burial will take place at Philadelphia Cemetery.
