Peggy A. (Callahan) Collis, 73, of Anderson died at Ball Memorial Hospital, on Feb. 28, 2011 following a brief illness. Peggy was born in Murphysboro, Ill. on Sept. 21, 1937 to Albert and Mamie (Border) Callahan.
She was a homemaker and a member of Madison Park Church of God where she was a member of the Church Choir, a Brownie Troop Leader and a former Sunday School Teacher. She loved doing craft projects and decorating for the holidays. She lived in Greenfield for 30 years and in Muncie during her school days.
She is survived by her husband, Roy L. Collis of Anderson whom she married in Muncie on June 16, 1956, her 2 children, Jeanne (John) McGhee of Arlington & Phillip D. Collis (Julie Stanton) of Greenfield; her sister, Ethel Chalfant of Muncie; 2 grandchildren, Cheryl Lynn Dioti and Mandy Hodge; a great grandson, Caleb Hodge and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents; son, Jerry Collis; 3 brothers, Harold Jerry and Albert Callahan, and her sister Wilma Jane Kemp.
Service will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Mike Swartz and Pastor Steve Williamson officiating. Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Forestville Cemetery in Summitville.
