Genevieve (Mitchell) Steele Kleiman, age 93, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, at Cape Coral Hospital in Fla. She was born on Feb. 2, 1918, in Hancock County, to the late Azra and Thelma (Hittle) Mitchell. She married Joseph W. Steele on May 2, 1936. He died on June 4, 1968. She married Herman Kleiman on October 20, 1973, and he survives.
Genevieve was a member of the Eastern Star and North United Methodist Church in Indianapolis.
Surviving are a son, John Steele (wife, Judith); and two stepsons, Larry Kleiman (wife, Rose) and Greg Kleiman (wife, Shelley). Also surviving are ten grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Susann Heaton; and two sisters, Mabel Crider and Charlotta “Peachie” McClarnon.
Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will take place at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
