Patricia L. Modglin, age 75, a resident of Greenfield, passed away on Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at her home. She was born on June 28, 1935, in Murphysboro, Ill. to the late Floyd and Pauline (Dameron) Childers.
Patricia worked for the Marion County Home as a nursing assistant for 25 years as well as the Sugar Creek Chateau for 19 years. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Greenfield and enjoyed dancing and bowling.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol Modglin of Greenfield; brothers, Bill Childers of Ill., Alvin Childers of Utah; sisters, Ethel Mae Clutts, Karen Sue Berkey and Bernadette Cold, all of Illinois, Sara Greer of Washington; grandchildren, Jane Unger and Rob Early; 7 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Brittany, Destiny, Katie, Taylor, Breaden and Xavier; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. R. “Jack" Modglin in 1992; brother, Jim Childers, Jr.; sisters, Rose Marie Dunn, Judith Ann Richey and Phyllis J. Stanton.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, Greenfield. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at the funeral home. A burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery.
