Raymond Ritchie, age 81, of Greenfield, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at Westfield Hospital in Indianapolis. Born on Jan. 19, 1930, in Knott County, Ky., he was the son of Marcus and Juliann Ritchie.
Survivors include his wife, Norma L. (Combs) Ritchie of Greenfield; sons, Dana (Wendy) Ritchie of Calif., Gary (Glenda) Ritchie of Loogootee, Ind., Fred Ritchie of Md., Terry (Cheryl) Ritchie of Shelbyville, Eugene (Cynthia) Ritchie of Columbia City, Ind., and Tony (Cindy) Ritchie of Greenfield; brothers, Carew and Thurman Ritchie; sister, Colina Rowe; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; three sisters, Ruth, Hannah, and Vernalee; and three brothers, Ishman, Samuel, and Truman.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.on Saturday, Feb.5, 2011, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3 p.m. at the mortuary. Doug Hartings will officiate. Burial will be at Philadelphia Cemetery.
